Situational Awareness, a hedge fund founded by 23-year-old artificial intelligence (AI) influencer and former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, has bought a large stake in bitcoin miner Core Scientific. According to a regulatory filing on Tuesday, the fund disclosed that it had acquired a 5.8% ownership stake in 17.70 million shares of the bitcoin mining and data center operator. The fund increased its stake in Core Scientific between July 18 and August 13.
