Shot Fired Outside U.S. Consulate in Toronto, Police Say No One Hurt

According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters, at least one shot was fired outside the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto, Canada, early Monday, and police said no one was injured. Toronto police said the shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. on July 27, which was 4:45 p.m. Singapore time the same day. An officer on duty heard the shot and found signs of gunfire outside the consulate on University Avenue. Police said a white sedan was seen speeding away from the scene, and they halted the pursuit near a highway because there was no air support and the suspect vehicle was traveling too fast. It was the second similar incident this year at the U.S. consulate in Toronto. On March 10, another shooting occurred outside the consulate, after which police arrested three suspects.
