Synopsys said on July 27 that it has partnered with Microsoft to develop an autonomous AI agent workflow for chip design, and the workflow is now available on Microsoft's Discovery platform for customer evaluation. The solution is based on Synopsys' AgentEngineer technology and is intended to use AI agents to improve engineering automation and speed up the product design process from chip to system, according to Jiemian News.
Synopsys also showcased two autonomous AI workflows: an automated debug closed-loop process for chip verification and an automated implementation-optimization workflow based on Fusion Compiler and Azure. Early tests of the debug workflow showed it could cut debugging time by 25% to 40%. Synopsys said it is also working with AMD and Microsoft to advance AI-driven chip design processes, and AMD is evaluating the technology for next-generation product development.
