BofA Securities technical strategist Paul Ciana said in a seasonal report that, based on decades of market data, August to October has historically been the weakest rolling three-month period for the S&P 500. He added that the dollar, gold and U.S. Treasuries have tended to outperform in the same window, according to 36Kr. The pattern supports BofA's defensive stance, which it has maintained since the end of May.
