Kakao-owned Kaia and LINE NEXT have announced the launch of Project Unify, a stablecoin app built into LINE Messenger. The app will go live in beta later this year, providing payment, money transfer, revenue services, and access to more than 100 decentralized applications (dApps). Plans also include support for regional stablecoins ranging from the Japanese yen and Korean won to the peso and Thai baht, but the rollout remains challenging amid regulatory uncertainty in Seoul.
