UNCTAD: 2033 artificial intelligence will become the most leading frontier technology

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) released a report on the 19th that by 2033, the global artificial intelligence (AI) market size is expected to reach 4.80 trillion US dollars, and the proportion of cutting-edge technologies has increased significantly, becoming the most dominant key technology field. In contrast, the market share change of technologies such as the Internet of Things, blockchain, electric vehicles and solar photovoltaics is relatively limited.
The report also warns that the rapid development of AI is mainly concentrated in a few major economies and large enterprises, which may exacerbate the development imbalance between countries and enterprises, and calls for strategic investment and more inclusive global governance mechanisms to promote the wider sharing of artificial intelligence development results.
