Starknet, the Layer 2 scaling solution, has announced the completion of the v0.13.3 mainnet upgrade. Starknet says that this release will make Starknet more data efficient, reducing the cost of blob gas on the mainnet by about 5 times, which means lower fees for all Starknet users.
Starknet announced that it has completed the Starknet v0.13.2 (Bolt) upgrade on the mainnet to support parallel execution and block packing, where parallel execution enables transactions within the Starknet sorter to be executed simultaneously by batching multiple L2 blocks into a special application recursive proof. With block packing, multiple Starknet blocks are processed per Starknet status update, allowing for batch processing of L1 fixed costs.
Starknet announced on the X platform that Starknet v0.13.2 will be available on the mainnet in two days. Starknet said that before v0.13.2, Starknet faced two trade-offs. The higher the block frequency, the higher the cost; the lower the cost, the lower the block frequency. The new version is expected to solve the relevant problems.
