VanEck has announced an investment in Web 3 gaming company Gunzilla, the second time its crypto fund has ventured into the space. Gunzilla developed Off The Grid, a cyberpunk shooter. VanEck believes that blockchain will bring transparency and player control to gaming, driving the gaming economy.
On October 9th, Gunzilla Games released an early trial version of its battle royale video game "Off the Grid" on Sony's PlayStation 5 and Epic Game Store. An early preview of the game revealed that it has AAA-rated graphics and gameplay. "Based on custom Avalanche L1, GUNZ provides game developers with the tools to build a player-driven economy by providing players with full ownership of in-game assets as tradable NFTs," the company said in a statement.
