Canaan Launches 2.50 trillion-Watt Bitcoin Mining Pilot Project in Canada
Canaan has launched a 2 trillion-watt pilot project in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to mine bitcoin through the generation of idle natural gas. The mining hardware maker announced on Monday that it is working with Calgary-based Aurora AZ Energy Ltd. to advance the deployment of the project, which will convert natural gas that would otherwise be flared or idled into electricity directly at oil and gas wellheads.
