Faruk Fatih Ozer, the former boss of Türkiye's crypto exchange Thodex, was sentenced to 11196 years in prison for allegedly defrauding investors of millions of dollars. In 2021, after the collapse of the Thodex exchange, Ozer fled to Albania with investors worth approximately $43 million in assets. Last year, he was extradited to Türkiye on charges of money laundering, fraud and organized crime.
