South Korea fines Worldcoin Foundation and Tools for Humanity for violating data protection laws
On September 26th, according to ZDNet Korea, the Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea (PIPC) has fined Worldcoin Foundation and Tools for Humanity (TFH) for violating the Personal Data Protection Act. Worldcoin Foundation was fined 725 million won (approx. $546,000) for mishandling sensitive information and transferring it abroad. Tools for Humanity (TFH) was fined 379 million won (approx. $285,000) for violating local regulations regarding the outbound transfer of personal data. ...
