On April 2nd, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce stated that since joining the World Trade Organization, China, as the largest developing member, has always firmly supported the multilateral trading system, continuously expanded high-level opening up, continuously improved the socialist market economy system and legal system, and insisted on playing a decisive role in resource allocation, which has been highly recognized by the international community. On the other hand, the United States adheres to the policy orientation of "prioritizing the United States", disregards multilateral trade rules, arbitrarily imposes unilateral tariffs on other countries, formulates discriminatory industrial policies, abuses export controls, investment restrictions and other measures under the pretext of "national security", restricts foreign investment enterprises from participating in government procurement, artificially sets up a large number of trade barriers, and hinders fair competition. WTO members, including China, are highly concerned about this.
