Taiwan, China has planned the preliminary structure and design of the CBDC (digital New Taiwan dollar), and successfully completed the outsourced questionnaire survey in April. Relevant departments revealed that the current planned CBDC-related design will include no interest payment in the initial stage, but retain the function of interest bearing, opening bearer wallets with mobile phone numbers, wallet grading and other functions. And said that it will adopt a two-tier structure for issuance, which is to maintain the operation mode of the two-tier structure of the traditional monetary system and avoid financial disintermediation (the supply of funds bypasses the intermediary system of commercial banks and is directly provided to the party in need of funds).
