On June 19, Jameson Lopp, co-founder of Bitcoin hosting company Casa, issued a reminder on the X platform, saying that any version operators of LND nodes (Lightning Network nodes) before the 0.17.0 should be updated immediately to patch serious vulnerabilities.
In addition, according to information shared by X platform user @DavidShares, previous versions of LND 0.17.0 vulnerable to malicious DoS attacks. Running older versions of LND puts funds at risk as attacks are prone. The severity of the attack is high due to its low cost and simplicity. This critical vulnerability was discovered a year ago, in June 2023.
