TD Securities: Dollar May Fall If The Fed Keeps Rates Unchanged
2026-07-28 15:01:09
According to Jin10, TD Securities strategists said the dollar could weaken reflexively if the Federal Reserve keeps rates unchanged on Wednesday. The report said rates are expected to stay unchanged, but Cleveland Fed President Beth M. Hammack and Dallas Fed President Lorie K. Logan are expected to dissent in favor of a rate hike. TD Securities also said Kevin Warsh is unlikely to provide forward guidance and is expected to reiterate a commitment to price stability, while noting recent declines in inflation data and hinting that inflation remains elevated. The firm said any short-term dollar weakness may be limited because expectations for Fed rate hikes during the rest of 2026 remain intact.
