According to Lianhe Zaobao citing AFP, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Tuesday, July 28, that more than 390 drones targeted Moscow overnight. In a Telegram post, he said the drones flew toward Moscow between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. the next day, corresponding to 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Singapore time on July 28, and that most were shot down before reaching the city. He said 81 enemy drones were destroyed while approaching Moscow.
Russia's Defense Ministry later said 356 Ukrainian drones were shot down across more than a dozen regions, including areas near Moscow. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov also said the drone attack damaged houses in the town of Chekhov and the village of Vauzlovo. Ukraine has been stepping up long-range strikes on Russian energy, logistics and military facilities, saying they are justified retaliation for Moscow's nighttime bombardment of Ukrainian cities.
