Siebert Financial Corp., a Nasdaq-listed financial services company, has agreed to become the U.S. partner of Kakao Pay Securities. According to Odaily, the two firms plan to use K-Stock Global Gateway to launch tokenized trading services for Korean stocks aimed at U.S. investors.
Kakao Pay Securities holds about 9 million stock accounts in South Korea. The companies plan to explore tokenizing Korean stocks so U.S. investors can access them outside normal trading hours on the Korea Exchange, and they will also examine whether tokenized securities could support T+0 settlement. The initial tokenized trading service is targeted for the first half of 2027. Both sides said any implementation must comply with U.S. and South Korean regulatory requirements and investor protection standards.
