Prediction market operator Kalshi sent Netflix a cease-and-desist letter on July 24, accusing the trailer for its new documentary, "Instadocs: The Prediction Games," of defamation. According to Odaily, Kalshi asked Netflix to remove the trailer and issue a public correction before the film's premiere on July 26.

Kalshi said the trailer used a fabricated trading receipt that suggested the company allowed Nevada sports betting and violated a state court order. The company said the receipt date shown in the footage was May 16, 2025, and that the phone interface displayed "crop," which it said did not match its platform style.

Netflix denied that the footage was fabricated and said the transaction took place in May 2025 before Nevada restrictions took effect. The company said the scene was filmed at a private event in Las Vegas. Nevada regulators have told Kalshi to complete geofencing deployment by August 12 or face a $120,000 daily fine.
