Brent crude futures rose 7.1% intraday yesterday to break above $100 before reversing sharply, and are down nearly 14% today to around $86. The 30-year U.S. Treasury yield has stayed above 5% for 14 straight trading days, the longest stretch since 2007. According to PANews, AI demand remains, but the market is concerned about spending running too fast, while semiconductor and memory stocks have held up relatively better, defense stocks have served as a safe haven, and the seven major technology stocks lost nearly $800 billion in market value in a single day.
