The US Commerce Department said Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3 scored well below leading US frontier models in a cyber-focused test run by CAISI with British experts. The assessment found Kimi K3 lagged on ExploitBench and The Last Ones, though the report said the gap may be overstated by test limits, according to BeInCrypto, including the use of safety-off settings for US models and only partial testing of Kimi K3.
Moonshot launched Kimi K3 on July 16 and plans a full release on July 27. The report came a day after Washington accused Moonshot of building the model with stolen US technology.
