The Transport Department said Baidu's North Lantau Airport Island test project has been approved for driverless testing and will begin on the 27th of this month, according to Ming Pao.
It will be Hong Kong's first autonomous vehicle test on public roads with no driver in the car since the new autonomous driving regulatory framework took effect in 2024, and the first driverless autonomous vehicle test in a right-hand-drive market globally.
