Augustus Raises $180 Million To Build Clearing Bank For AI, Stablecoin Era

Augustus raised $180 million at a $1 billion valuation to expand its dollar payment infrastructure and build a federally chartered clearing bank for fintechs and financial institutions. According to CoinDesk, Tiger Global led the round, with Hummingbird, QED and the founders of Nubank, Ramp, Circle and Deel also participating. The startup said it already provides euro clearing through its regulated entity in Finland, processes billions of euros annually and has conditional approval for a U.S. national bank charter from the OCC.
