Ondo Perps has launched tokenized stock collateral for perpetual contract trading, allowing all users to use Ondo Stocks tokenized equities as margin for perpetual positions. According to Odaily, the feature initially supports tokenized S&P 500 ETF SPYon and Nasdaq 100 ETF QQQon.
Ondo said users no longer need to convert funds into stablecoins or sell holdings to use tokenized stocks as collateral for derivatives trading. Ondo Perps said its cumulative trading volume has exceeded $3.8 billion, and trader demand is concentrated on stock hedging in one platform, deep liquidity for stock perpetual contracts, lower spreads and slippage, execution speed close to centralized exchanges, 24/7 trading, and up to 20x leverage.
Ondo said tokenized stock collateral is part of its productive capital strategy and is intended to improve capital efficiency for tokenized stocks and bring onchain stock perpetual market liquidity and efficiency closer to traditional derivatives markets. It said Ondo Stocks previously advanced tokenization of U.S. equities, and Ondo Perps now extends trading and margin mechanisms to tokenized assets. Ondo added that perpetual contract trading is part of a broader plan to build onchain prime brokerage infrastructure covering trading, financing, and margin management for the tokenized asset ecosystem.
