Toyota President Kenta Kono said the automaker will streamline its parts lineup to improve profitability, adding that there is still substantial room to improve how expenses are used. According to 36Kr, he also said Toyota's break-even production level is currently too high and should be lowered modestly. Kono said he wants to maintain domestic production levels in Japan, stressing that the country's manufacturing sector and supply chain are very important. He added that Toyota will continue working with suppliers to improve drawings and quality while reducing costs.
