China's three major indexes opened higher and then weakened before rebounding during the morning session, with the ChiNext Index falling more than 2% at one point. According to Jin10, as of the midday close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.62%, the Shenzhen Component Index gained 3.41%, and the ChiNext Index climbed 5.20%.
The semiconductor chain advanced broadly, led by memory chips, AI chips, lithography machines, advanced packaging, and CPO concepts. Torens, Zhenbao Technology, and Geke Micro were among the stocks that hit the 20% daily limit, while Hua Hong Semiconductor rose more than 17% and Empyrean Technology gained more than 12%. MLCC concepts rebounded intraday, with Keda Materials hitting the 20% daily limit after raising its zirconia powder sales price, and the components sector moved higher, led by Jinlu Electronics and Sanhuan Group. Rare earth permanent magnets, intelligent driving, glass fiber, batteries, precious metals, and liquid cooling were also among the top gainers, while oil and gas exploration, chemical pharmaceuticals, CRO, power, and coal mining were among the biggest decliners.
Turnover in Shanghai and Shenzhen totaled about 2 trillion yuan in the first half of the day, up about 330.5 billion yuan from the same period yesterday. About 2,600 stocks rose and 2,800 fell.
