According to the announcement from Binance, the company is introducing further changes to its VIP Program to make VIP status more accessible and to recognize a wider range of trading activity toward qualification. The update follows the March 2026 VIP program criteria adjustments and includes two main changes: the VIP 3 asset holding threshold will be reduced from $3,000,000 to $1,000,000, and OTC Spot Trading Volume will count at a 4x multiplier toward Spot Trading Volume. Binance also said the OTC VIP cap will be lifted to VIP 9, while the legacy OTC-only trading path is being retired. The revised VIP 3 asset holding requirement takes effect on 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC), and Binance said the lower threshold is intended to make the VIP fee rate for VIP 3 holders more competitive and to create a smoother path through the VIP tiers. For Binance Affiliate Program participants, the company said there will be a 3-month grace period after the adjustment. During that period, affiliate commissions will continue to be calculated using the previous VIP 3 Holder threshold, with commission distributions made at the end of the grace period. Binance said this transition arrangement applies only to existing referrals and will not cover referrals invited after 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC).

Starting 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC), OTC Spot Trading Volume will be counted at 4x and added to the Spot Trading Volume metric for VIP qualification, meaning $1 in OTC volume will count as $4 toward the threshold. Binance said this change is designed to expand eligibility for users active in both spot and OTC trading and to allow OTC traders to progress beyond VIP 4, up to VIP 9, in line with the full range of spot and futures pathways. The updated criteria state that users must meet the BNB balance requirement and at least one qualifying condition, including Spot Trading Volume, Derivatives Trading Volume, Wallet Assets, or 30-Day Average Net Borrowing. Binance also said there are no changes to VIP trading fees, and that spot trading volume includes Spot, Margin, Convert, Copy Trading, Trading Bots, Stocks, and bStocks activity. Wallet Assets refers to the total USD value held in a user’s Binance Wallet, while 30-Day Average Net Borrowing refers to the daily average net borrowing volume on Binance Loans over the trailing 30-day period. Sub-account volume is combined with the master account for VIP qualification, and users who qualify under multiple criteria will be assigned the highest applicable VIP level.
