Brewdog co-founder James Watt is facing complaints to the UK data watchdog after he reportedly contacted former shareholders while trying to regain control of the Scottish craft brewer, according to BBC. The Information Commissioner's Office said it is assessing information following the complaints. Earlier this year, Tilray acquired Brewdog in a deal worth about £33m after the company collapsed with debts of more than £500m, leaving shares held by about 200,000 crowdfunding investors worthless. Tilray bought Brewdog's brand, intellectual property, UK breweries and 11 bars, while Watt has launched a buyback bid through his new beer firm, Second Best, claiming 43,000 equity punk investors backed the plan.
