据金十数据报道，美国已不再将石油作为发电系统的“主要燃料”，目前主要依赖天然气发电。得益于美国页岩油气田产量充足，今年以来天然气价格一直保持相对平稳。
西格尔表示：“当前电网需要各种类型的发电技术。”他说，LS Power正在开发太阳能、储能电池以及新的天然气发电厂项目。
