Goldman Sachs: Australia Inflation Data Remains Concerning, Core Inflation May Accelerate in June

Goldman Sachs chief economist Andrew Boak said Australia’s inflation data is expected to remain slightly concerning. According to Jin10, he said Australia’s overall CPI for June is expected to rise 0.2% month on month, leaving the year-on-year rate unchanged at 4.0%.

He added that the Reserve Bank of Australia’s inflation target is about 2.5%. According to Jin10, the trimmed-mean consumer price index for June is expected to rise 0.4% month on month, with the annual rate increasing by 10 basis points to 3.7%. The data will be released on July 29.
