Japan's Nikkei 225 Index fell 2,694.42 points, or 4.03%, to close at 64,141.12 on July 17. According to Odaily, the index was down as much as 6% during the session and briefly fell below 63,000.
Japan's Topix Index closed down 2.72%. Kioxia fell 16%, SoftBank dropped 8.5%, and Advantest declined 8%. South Korean markets were closed today.
