Derry City were eliminated from the Europa League by CSKA Sofia after a match at the Brandywell Stadium was marred by trouble in the stands, according to Yahoo Sports. Derry had levelled the tie on aggregate through Ellis Chapman early in the second half, but Ioannis Pittas restored CSKA’s lead before Barry Cotter’s own goal in stoppage time made it 5-3 on aggregate. Derry City will now drop into the Conference League and play NK Rijeka of Croatia in the second qualifying round.
