Privacy blockchain Zano said Zenith has entered the implementation phase, with a network transition planned for 2027 depending on test, analysis, and review results. Zano has not announced an activation date, and the proposed operating parameters still need network-level validation.

According to Odaily, Zenith will move Zano from a hybrid proof-of-work and proof-of-stake model to a privacy-focused proof-of-stake protocol. The plan calls for reducing block time from about one minute to about 15 seconds, cutting recommended confirmations from 10 blocks to four to six blocks, and bringing typical confirmation times to about 60 to 90 seconds.

Zano co-founder and core developer Andrey Sabelnikov said Zenith is based on more than 12 years of privacy research and is intended to give the network the benefits of modern proof of stake while preserving the privacy protection Zano users expect. He also said proof-of-work miners currently receive about 720 newly issued ZANO per day, or about 21,600 per month and 262,800 per year.

After Zenith is activated and proof-of-work mining ends, that issuance will be removed. Zano has also launched an official Zano Forum for technical discussion and community support.
