The U.S. Department of Defense has prohibited the public release of the annual report on the F-35 fighter jet program for the first time in more than 20 years. According to Odaily, the report, which has been published annually since 2005 as required by the U.S. Congress, was found during this year's review process to contain classified information that should not be disclosed to the public. The F-35 program has faced criticism over issues including budget overruns, engine delivery delays, software update postponements, and premature wear of components.
