The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted preliminary conditional approval for Sony Bank's proposed Connectia Trust, which would issue a dollar-backed stablecoin for a restricted Sony network. According to NS3.AI, the approval does not name PlayStation, the PlayStation Store, or game purchases. Sony Bank said a possible 2027 opening remains subject to required approvals, and stablecoin issuance is not guaranteed.
