Binance to Add Express Interest Only Mode to Capital Connect Portfolio Marketplace

According to the announcement from Binance, the exchange is introducing Express Interest Only (EIO) mode on Capital Connect, which it describes as a portfolio marketplace that links professional trading teams with institutional investors. The new mode is designed to let trading teams present track records to institutional investors in a compliant, view-only format while allowing investors to discover strategies before they become investable. Binance said investment in EIO portfolios is not available; instead, investors can submit a non-binding expression of interest, and trading teams receive anonymised demand signals via email notification. Access to the Capital Connect dashboard, including EIO listings, is available only to whitelisted Capital Connect investors.

EIO Mode: Listing Rules and Visibility

Binance said EIO mode is intended for trading teams that do not yet hold the required licenses to offer strategies to external investors. In this mode, performance data remains visible, including multi-period returns, risk metrics, NAV history, and portfolio composition, while investment functions such as subscribe and redeem are disabled. EIO listings will display an “Express Interest Only” badge and will be visible only to logged-in, verified professional investors who meet Capital Connect’s qualification criteria.

Timeline, Transition, and Page Updates

Binance said EIO mode is time-limited, expiring after six months and potentially extendable by up to an additional three months, subject to review. Trading teams are expected to pursue licensing to transition to active status; once licensed and after maintaining a 30-day active track record on Capital Connect, a portfolio may be transitioned to active status. Separately, Binance said Capital Connect’s portfolio detail page now includes enhanced performance metrics, portfolio composition data, and trading team information for both active and EIO portfolios.
