Bolivia’s government is evaluating whether to incorporate USDT into the country’s regulated payment system after virtual asset operations surged more than 630% to $430 million.

According to NS3.AI, the review is still in a technical assessment phase as authorities consider how USDT could fit within existing payment rules.

Cryptoassets are authorized in Bolivia, but they do not have legal-tender status.

Bolivia’s finance minister said a prior prohibition was lifted without a clear regulatory framework, and the government is continuing its technical review before making further decisions.
