According to Jin10, prices for clothing, used cars, auto insurance, and health care all fell in June compared with May. Housing costs posted their lowest month-on-month increase since 2021.
Omair Sharif, head of consulting firm Inflation Insights, said price declines in three categories—auto insurance, wireless data services, and hotels—together significantly pulled down overall inflation for the month. He added that this type of improvement may not necessarily appear again in the coming months.
