Pakistan’s Dar Urges US and Iran to Show Restraint, Follow Memorandum of Understanding

According to Lianhe Zaobao, Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called on the United States and Iran to exercise restraint and follow the contents of a US-Iran memorandum of understanding to help de-escalate tensions. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on July 12 that Dar spoke by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, and the two exchanged views on the current regional situation. Dar said dialogue and diplomacy remain the only way to resolve disputes and achieve lasting regional peace and stability, and the two sides agreed to stay in close contact.
