Bernstein estimates that SK Hynix’s DRAM gross margin is expected to reach 90.9% in the second quarter of this year and 92% in the third quarter. According to Odaily, the projected increase is mainly driven by strong demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM).
The report said SK Hynix holds about 60% market share in the HBM market and is a major supplier to Nvidia.
An industry source cited in the report said that in the history of global manufacturing and technology, aside from software and platform-based asset-light businesses, few physical hardware manufacturing operations have been able to push gross margins above 90%.
