The Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) raised its forecast for Japanese semiconductor equipment makers' global equipment sales in fiscal 2026 to JPY 6.5502 trillion, up about 20% from its January 2026 estimate of JPY 5.5004 trillion, according to 36Kr. SEAJ said the revision reflects an investment boom in advanced logic chips for AI servers and a sharp expansion in DRAM production-line investment centered on high-bandwidth memory (HBM).
SEAJ expects fiscal 2026 sales to rise 26.0% year on year versus fiscal 2025, surpassing JPY 6 trillion for the first time and setting a record high for a third consecutive year. It also lifted its fiscal 2027 sales forecast to JPY 7.4017 trillion from JPY 5.6104 trillion, citing strong AI server chip demand and new wafer fabs coming online; the new forecast implies 13.0% growth year on year and a potential fourth straight annual record.
