O2 said overall mobile traffic was 27.7% above an average week and BBC iPlayer traffic rose 380% versus a typical weekday afternoon, while MRI Software data showed UK footfall up 7.4% week on week on Wednesday, including a 15% rise on high streets and a 46.7% increase in London, according to Yahoo Sports.
