Nike appointed Dave Denton, formerly chief financial officer at Pfizer, as its new finance chief, according to Bloomberg.
Nina Trentmann, a senior editor at Bloomberg News, said some analysts have raised questions about Denton’s lack of direct retail and apparel industry experience. She added that for large companies such as Nike and Pfizer, experience running a complex global business with extensive supply chains and a large market capitalization may matter more than deep industry specialization.
