Tando has announced a service that allows 40 million Kenyans to send and receive Bitcoin using M-Pesa infrastructure.
According to NS3.AI, the Kenya-based company connects Bitcoin wallets with M-Pesa payments by using Bitcoin’s Lightning Network and Lightning addresses linked to users’ phone numbers.
The company said the setup is designed to enable Bitcoin transfers through the existing M-Pesa payment rails.
