U.S. Senate Republican tax drafter Steve Daines said the Senate’s advancing framework for cryptocurrency tax legislation is largely in place, and the related bill could be released as early as this fall.
According to Odaily, Daines said the Senate framework is “more similar than different” compared with the cryptocurrency tax proposal previously issued by the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee.
Daines also said he hopes a related legislative markup session can be held within this year to move the bill-review process forward.
He did not disclose specific provisions of the framework.
