South Korean payments platform KG Inicis said it will bring stablecoin payments to the Solana blockchain and has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Solana Foundation. According to ChainCatcher, KG Inicis processes more than 25 trillion won in annual transaction volume.
The company said the initiative will combine its existing payments infrastructure and merchant network to support on-chain digital-asset payments. KG Inicis also plans to launch a token-based merchant rewards mechanism in the future.
The announcement comes as major South Korean payments firms increase efforts to test stablecoins in real-world payment use cases.
