Barclays said in a recent research report that robotaxis are the most critical part of Tesla’s AI strategy, citing their large market potential and early commercialization.
According to Odaily, the report said Tesla currently has three main growth engines: Full Self-Driving (FSD), robotaxis, and the Optimus humanoid robot.
Barclays said Optimus has the largest potential market but remains at the prototype stage. It added that FSD has begun generating revenue, but its market opportunity is relatively limited.
In contrast, Barclays said robotaxis combine significant market potential with initial commercial operations, leading the firm to view them as Tesla’s most important AI business at present.
Barclays maintained an “equal weight” rating on Tesla and set a price target of $360.
