Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) on Wednesday released the latest report of a working group of the Financial System Review Council, outlining plans to shift the regulatory basis for cryptoassets from the current Payment Services Act (PSA) to the Financial Commodities Exchange Act (FIEA), which mainly targets investment and securities markets. The report points out that cryptoassets are increasingly becoming investment targets at home and abroad, and therefore need to be protected by the standards of financial products.
