On December 2nd, according to Bloomberg News, after cutting interest rates by more than 1 percentage point, Federal Reserve officials are now thinking about where to stop - only to find that internal opinion is more divided than ever. Over the past year or so, expectations of where rates should eventually go have been the most divided since at least 2012, when the Fed began publishing relevant forecasts. This has also led to an unusually public split over whether to cut rates again next week, and what to do after that.
