Crypto businesses and advocacy groups are urging the White House to advance priorities during consideration of market structure legislation bills

The letter, led by the Solana Institute for Policy Studies, urges the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to immediately implement most of the policy initiatives in the July Presidential Digital Asset Task Force Report. The letter, signed by Uniswap, Ledger, FalconX, and Paradigm, among others, emphasizes that these measures can lead to "quick wins" that will help Trump achieve his goal of making the United States the "crypto capital of the world."
Key demands include: tax clarity, guidance on pledges, mining, airdrops, cross-chain transactions, collateral pledges, and charitable donations to prevent taxation before revenue is actually realized, while aligning the rules with economic reality; regulatory certainty, clear rules for developers, DeFi protocols, and digital asset self-custody, with no-action relief and safe harbor under existing frameworks; on DeFi protection and innovation, the FinCEN guidelines should be updated, cyber security measures should be strengthened, and decentralized projects should be supported to thrive in the United States; justice for Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm, urging the Department of Justice to drop charges and confirm that releasing open-source software is not a crime.
