Logan, Dallas Fed president, said on Friday that the central bank needed to keep interest rates "on hold for now" while assessing the extent of the current tightening of monetary policy. In her speech in Zurich, she reiterated her earlier view that the Fed's October rate cut was not justified with inflation remaining elevated and the labour market broadly balanced. "Holding rates on hold for a period of time, until there is clear evidence to support further easing, would allow the FOMC to better assess the degree of restraint of current policy," she said.
